Zurich. Probably one of our favourite places out of the trip! We both fell inlove with this city & the atmosphere of the place. We were very lucky as we arrived and it was a beautiful 29 degrees and not a cloud in the sky.
We stayed with our ex Airbnb guests Alex & Reto who are so lovely & have a beautiful home in an awesome area of Zurich, Jess loved it so much that she wants to live here & looked up to see if it was possible but unfortunately it is not.
We hired a bike all day for free (i know for free) and explored the city, it is a pretty small city but it is very beautiful. As it was really hot we stopped off to take a dip in the river, the first spot was a bit too cold for Jess to get into but the second spot she was fine (still freezing but could ease herself in- the other you had to jump in).
Along the river there are awesome bars & a great spot to people watch with a beer in hand. Dyl jumped off the bridge into the river as it was the thing to do so why not.
We must thank Alex & Reto for hosting a raclette night (yes in summer) for us to try as we were busting. It is awesome and if you ever have the chance we recommend it. Basically you melt the raclette (type of cheese) in a special grill & you fry pork & veggies on the top bit… you then grab your boiled potatoes and pour the gooey cheese on top, add cornichons, cocktail onions & herbs & eat it! As we are both huge cheese lovers this was obviously amazing!!!!!!! So thanks again for going against tradition and hosting it in summer for us Aussies!
