We stayed a few nights in North Ferriby courtesy of Kate and John, who Jess met in Sydney – their house (and garden) was amazing! Thanks so much for having us Kate and John. North Ferriby is quite close to Hull which is a bit of a slow town but is quite interesting due to it’s history – it was a slavers port before William Wilberforce, a local, campaigned to end slavery in Britain. Also nearby is York which is a beautiful quaint old city that began as a Roman settlement before being invaded by Vikings – quite a past! On the way out of Yorkshire we drove through Harrogate which is probably the most beautiful town in England, and through the Yorkshire Dales national park, where we visited a tiny little town in the middle of nowhere called Malham, which is quite close to a very interesting geological feature called the Malham Scar. We were very lucky with the weather as well, as you can see!
