We took a little day trip out to San Vito Lo Capo from Trapani, Sicily one day, about an hours drive away. It’s a tiny little town that seems like it would be literally deserted in the non-tourism season. It’s in the middle of nowhere, but it has an amazing beach surrounded by imposing mountains.
On the way back was one of the highlights of the whole trip – we stumbled upon a pebble beach with barely anyone on it – Spiaggia del Bue Marino. The water was the most amazingly clear and perfect water we’ve seen anywhere in the world. The surrounding mountains seemed like a martian landscape, and the sun was setting right in front of us. It was a special place and a special evening.
