On the drive back to Malaga from Gibraltar, we stopped at a few places – Estepona, Puerto Banus and Marbella. Estepona was a quaint little town filled with English people, quite pretty but didn’t seem to be much going on when we were there. Puerto Banus however was a different story. Filled with luxury cars, super yachts and glamorous people, this place was a bit intense. Marbella a little bit further along the Costa Del Sol was nice in comparison – a great beachside promenade and very quaint narrow backstreets with nice shops and restaurants. Again, all of the beaches we saw this day were dirty and dusty. We really don’t know why the Costa del Sol is so hyped up – maybe we are spoiled by growing up in Australia!
