On our road trip day around Puglia, our second stop was Gallipoli. Apparently it’s a party town, but we were there in the day so didn’t see much of that. In fact, it was very quiet which we thought was strange! Maybe because it was around 2pm, so middle of the siesta time. It was also extremely, extremely hot. The old town of Gallipoli is on a small island connected by a bridge to the mainland, and the whole island used to be a fortress basically. The beach is beyond some high stone walls and it’s quite nice, wasn’t even crowded!
