Also an hour west of Lisbon is a coastal town called Cascais, right around the corner from the Atlantic ocean. It’s Portugal’s most wealthy seaside enclave and where the people of Lisbon go to the beach. We spent a few days out here, but we were still sick from that horrible flu we got in Lisbon so we didn’t have the best of times. Cascais is a very nice little town, and the beaches are pretty good as well. However, we didn’t need to spend two days there. We could have just done a day trip, and spent the remaining time at the better beaches of the Algarve down south. Still, a nice little town.
