After Vienna we caught another train down to Budapest, Hungary – the first time we had been in this country. Budapest is a spectacular city that looks incredible both by day and by night. The Hungarian language is also quite fascinating – it’s unrelated to any other language near it. We stayed a little bit out from the city center and the first night we stayed, a car blew up outside our apartment. That was weird. Probably an insurance thing. We were in Budapest to go to the gigantic Sziget festival, where we saw Major Lazer and a bunch of other really cool acts. That was a big day / night. We had another day that we used to see the city and take a river cruise at night where we could see all of the incredible gothic buildings lit up. Our favourite part was going to the old Buda side of the river at sunset and looking out across the city from the beautiful fisherman’s bastion.
