Finally we left Puglia after an amazing week. On the way to Matera, we stopped by at Alberobello in the dead centre of hot dry Puglia. Alberobello is a very strange little town, composed of old, old “Trulli” houses that were the unique distinct style of the region. It’s a tourist hell though. Thousands of people taking instagram shots, including us. Worth a visit – but we probably wouldn’t return. On the plus side, there are many amazing ceramics shops that sell very unique stuff that I wish we could have bought!
